Corresponding author: anapedrolaboratories@gmail.com. It was suggested the existence of a mid-pachytene checkpoint where this checkpoint could be activated at the earliest at stage IV (1). On a previous publication (2), we found that the cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor P21 CDKN1A might be involved in a mid-pachytene checkpoint among other checkpoints in the mouse seminiferous epithelium. Mice deficient for Atm are male sterile with arrest and apoptosis occurring at testis epithelial stage IV, which in normal spermatocytes corresponds to mid-pachynema (3). In Atm/p53 or Atm/p21 double mutants, assembly of Rad51 foci on axial elements is defective, and ga...

Hemoglobin as a biomarker for melanoma - short report Ana Pedro (1) 1. Gwyntwr1386 Pharmacy, Regus Chester Business Park, Heronsway,Chester CH4 9QR, United Kingdom anapedrolaboratories@gmail.com Introduction Anemia is a common condition within cancer patients affecting their survival (1). In cutaneous melanoma (CM), low blood hemoglobin concentration is associated with nodal involvement and metastatic disease. Although anemia in diagnosis is not an independent prognostic factor for survival in CM, it is associated with poor prognostic factors (2). Also, the interstitial fluid and the deriving lymph are in direct contact with the cellular layer of each organ. Therefore, the analysis of the composition of the lymphatic fluid may provide precise pathological biochemical and cellular information about an organ including the skin (3). For these reasons, we collected lymphatic fluid samples both from healthy patients and CM patients suffering from different stages...

Gwyntwr1386 Pharmacy, Regus Chester Business Park, Heronsway, Chester CH4 9QR, United Kingdom anapedrolaboratories@gmail.com In mammals , blood is composed by cells such as erythrocytes, leukocytes and thrombocytes and a fluid called plasma were different particles with important biological functions such as immunoglobulins, lipoproteins, or extracellular vesicles circulate (1-4). We propose the creation of a new portable, small flow cytometer composed of biodegradable and/or inert materials as possible. This new flow cytometer will be capable of analysing both cells and small particles present in blood or in other fluids and of providing a full blood cell count. This new flow cytometer (fig. 1) will be composed of a microfluidics silicone chip were is inserted a flow sheath (with sample loading point as well as wast...

C oronary heart disease (CHD) is the most common type of heart and circulatory disease and the most common cause of heart attack and the single biggest killer worldwide. However, survival of post-myorcardial infarction can be improved if adherence to secondary prevention medication is maintained. Patient care can also be improved by monitoring cardiac troponin complex proteins which are well established as diagnostic biomarkers of myocardial injury in the context of CHD (1). These troponins are routinely screened for in a a point-of-care (POC) reliable lateral flow immunoassay in the NHS (2,3). Also, most MCA (medicine-compliance aids) patients are elderly and suffer of combined cardiovascular di...

We analysed the expression of P21 CDKN1A , γ-H2AX, PCNA and BrDu in differentiating mouse spermatogonia in mouse testis. P21 CDKN1A was expressed in in a variable manner in different spermatogonia types such as spermatogonia A and B. In addition, in agreement with γ-H2AX, PCNA and BrDu expression, P21 might have roles in cell cycle checkpoints, chromosome instability, replication, mitosis control and DNA repair but not apoptosis in spermatogonia. Hemoglobin as a biomarker for breast cancer ISSN 2753-8176 (online) (DOI: 10.13140/RG.2.2.25461.65764)

Ana Pedro 1 1. Gwyntwr1386 Pharmacy, Regus Chester Business Park, Heronsway, Chester CH4 9QR, United Kingdom anapedrolaboratories@gmail.com Abstract An enourmous amount of data and additional new data supports a role for hemoglobin in breast cancer. Literature Review and evidence Mammography screening is meant to reduce breast cancer (BC) mortality through early diagnosis and treatment of disease that would otherwise threaten life. However, in some cases a screening mammogram detects a cancer that would have neither caused death nor presented clinically during the woman’s lifetime (1). It is clear that to reduce the burden of over diagnosis on both the emotional and physical health of the patient and the economic health of the NHS, more sensitive tests for the diagnosis of breast cancer are needed. Preliminary data of our lab have showed that we have identified a biomarker for early stage ER+ breast cancer, HCG1745306 isoform CRA-a (2). A large body of evidence supports ...
