Introduction
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells, where there is a rapid growth of abnormal cells that build up in the bone marrow and blood interfering with normal blood cell production (1). Here, we analyze by proteomic analysis the precipitates after ultra-centrifugation of the conditioned media resulting from the cell culture of OCI-AML3 and Kasumi1 cell lines. We compare these proteomic profiles with those derived from the precipitates after ultra-centrifugation of plasma samples of control adult males (Control plasma male 1 and Control plasma male 2) OCI-AML3 cell line is derived from a 57 year-old male with Adult acute myeloid leukemia (2). Kasumi1 cell line is derived from the peripheral blood of a male AML patient, 7 weeks old (3).
Results and Discussion
We found out that (table 1, HBG1, hemoglobin gamma-1)), HBA (hemoglobin alpha), Mascot scores are raised in leukemia samples, while HBB (hemoglobin beta) Mascot scores are lower in leukemia samples. Also, HBD (hemoglobin delta) only is present in control samples.
Material and Methods
Proteomic analysis was performed at the Rockefeller University, Proteomics Center as described in Hamidi et al., 2017 (4). Only proteins with Mascot scores of approximately 90 or >90 were considered (5) The proteomic analysis excel files and each correspondent sample details were generously and kindly shared and donated by Dr. David Lyden, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, USA.
